The Dowsett Family Winery is a true family business. There are no employees, only family and friends. Production is limited to 500 total cases or less. All grapes, packaging materials and production supplies are purchased from people we know and respect.
Our first crush was the 2007 vintage. We produce all our wine at Buty Winery, in Walla Walla, Washington. The fruit for our wines comes from vineyards that are perfectly matched to the varieties we purchase. Our wines are sold locally, in the Pacific Northwest and through our mailing list.
Wines
We produce small amounts of table wines. Our white wines are dry, aromatic varietals. The dry Gewurztraminer is our flagship white. Chris has loved and worked with this grape since 1983. We also make a dry Riesling. Our reds are either Rhone varieties or Oregon Pinot Noir. We also craft a dry rose from Pinot Noir as well.
From time to time there may be other, limited wine releases. Some of these may be from sources that are actual family members, and we can raise the fruit how we like.
