Whether you’re after a creative craft cocktail or a multicourse feast from a world-class restaurant, Walla Walla delivers a surprising range of it all. From a world of fine dining and casual meals, to dessert bars and food trucks, the variety is endless and comes with a local twist.
Hungry for a fun, laid-back, family-friendly, guaranteed-to-make-you-full lunch or dinner? Wingman Birdz and Brewz is a great place to get really full and really happy.
Their specialty is designer chicken wings. Their menu features a gigantic craft beer list and tons of delicious local wines. Not only is Wingman Birdz and Brewz family-run AND family-friendly, they boast an indoor-outdoor seating set up that is truly ingenious, and they employ a tenured team of servers, bartenders, and back-of-house professionals that ensure your experience is not just consistent… it’s consistently great.
Owner Brendon Mendoza achieved Local Legend status in 2015 by earning the title of 2nd Runner Up in the city of Walla Walla’s Mr. Walla Walla pageant. For a good laugh, check out his dance routine to “All About that Bass”.
Wingman Birdz + Brewz is a proud community partner, actively contributing to a laundry-list of local charities and non-profits such as the Blue Mountain Humane Society, Rainbow Alliance, Friends of Walla Walla, American Cancer Society, City Parks & Rec sports teams, local schools, the Downtown Walla Walla Foundation and Walla Walla Valley Chamber of Commerce. In fact, Mr. Mendoza’s “Mr. Walla Walla” pageant title was earned in a fundraiser for the Walla Walla Dance Festival, an organization that brings dance into schools.
But of course, while catching a peek at the photo memorializing the Mr. Walla Walla “win” on entrance to the restaurant MIGHT make your shortlist of “things to do in Walla Walla” what you’re most interested in is what to order off the menu when your visit. With over 20 sauces and rubs, you really cannot go wrong with an order of wings and one or two other sides. We’re just going to go ahead and recommend the salsa verde, but you might also enjoy their clucking buffalo, parmesan garlic, or the surprising peanut butter and jelly.
Not every restaurant stop requires a wine pairing, though Wingman Birdz & Brewz has a great selection. If you’re all wined out, try a large glass of Burwood Brewery’s root beer or one of their rotating taps (available in 19 oz. or 7 oz. pours). Wingman also has a full bar if you’re hankering for a cocktail to pair with your flight.
At Wingman Birdz & Brewz, their number one priority is making guests feel at home and have fun. This is evident in everything from the set up to the menu items, the service and the ability to customize any of the dishes on the menu. As they say “We can buffalo that!” There are two rules their team lives by:
#1. No one leaves unhappy.
#2. No on leaves hungry.
See for yourself on your next visit to Walla Walla. Traveling with kids, in a group, or solo, you’re sure to have a great meal and perhaps an even better time.
