Walla Walla Transportation: Getting Around While You’re Here

Getting Around Walla Walla

Congratulations! You made it to Walla Walla, and now the real fun begins. Walla Walla’s relatively compact size means that from downtown, you’re never more than about 10 minutes away from the things you want to see, do, and explore. And, there’s a network of transportation options ready to take you wherever you want to go, whenever you want to get there.

Rental Car

Whether for a single day or for the duration of your visit, a number of rental car companies service Walla Walla, both at the Walla Walla Regional Airport and in town. Among them, Avis and Budget operate out of the airport, Enterprise has a facility downtown, and W/2 Rentals rents large and luxury vehicles ranging from a 12-passenger Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van to a Mercedes Benz GLK 4Matic.

wine tours

Even if you drove your personal vehicle to town, sometimes it’s nice to let someone else do the driving for a day. Especially if that day involves wine tasting at some of the more than 120 wineries that call the Walla Walla Valley home. From limousines and Teslas, to vintage vehicles and passenger vans, in Walla Walla, there’s a tour for that. As an added bonus, most wine tours take the guesswork out of the equation, and can make recommendations, schedule tastings, and even get you into hard to access wineries to help you get the most out of your day of touring and tasting. Visit our Winery Tours & Transportation page for a complete listing of tour operators.

Taxis & Rideshare

For shorter trips and on-demand service, take advantage of Walla Walla’s network of taxi and rideshare operators. While Uber and Lyft do service the valley, their numbers are limited so planning ahead whenever possible will make for a smoother experience.

Valley Transit

Another option for getting around town, Valley Transit provides public transportation services throughout the valley in their vintage trolley-style buses. Whether to the library, a museum, a park, or just the grocery store to stock up on hotel room snacks, Valley Transit features low fares, a convenient schedule, and routes include a regular loop around the valley, with downtown Walla Walla as its primary hub. Find a complete route map and schedule on the Rider Info section of their website.
