Charles Smith had humble beginnings and intentions. From a migrant restaurant worker (’79-’89, California) to a rock band manager (’89-’99, Copenhagen, and London) to fledgling winemaker with $5,000 and an Astro van (’99, Walla Walla, Washington), Charles is now the largest (and most-lauded) independent wine producer in Washington State. His portfolio includes K Vintners, Substance, SIXTO, ViNO CasaSmith, Golden West, POPUP, and B.Leighton.
