Bledsoe|McDaniels is a wine project founded by Drew Bledsoe and Josh McDaniels that explores the similarities and differences between two very different growing regions: the Willamette Valley in Oregon and the Walla Walla Valley in Washington. The focus is on small-production, estate-grown wines that show a strong sense of place, particularly Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley and Syrah from the Walla Walla Valley.
A big part of the philosophy is site and farming. Looking closely at differences in soil, elevation, aspect, geology, climate, and individual vineyard blocks, then allowing those differences to come through in the wines. The goal is to make wines that are balanced, elegant, complex, and representative of where they come from, rather than trying to make every vineyard taste the same.
