Raise Your Glass: Walla Walla BrewFest returns Feb. 14

Get ready for a beer festival with a twist.

Walla Walla BrewFest returns Feb. 14, 2026, with taps for 30 breweries and cideries set up at 18 businesses in the historic downtown area.

Frosty pours from your favorite local and regional pubs and breweries will be served in bookstores, boutiques and even a board shop, which means hopping from business to business to score a pour along the idyllic corridor. Among the mix are craft beverages from local favorites Quirk Brewing, Burwood Brewing and Blue Mountain Cider.

Here’s how it works: Buy a ticket — general admission or VIP. Check in the day of the event in the Die Brucke Building, 38 E. Main St., then receive a commemorative tasting glass and scrip to exchange for pours

Each scrip is the equivalent of one tasting. General admission ($45 in advance) includes five scrip, and VIP tickets ($75), which typically sell out quickly, include 10. Additional scrip can be purchased for $2 each. In addition to pours, the other benefit of a VIP ticket is the hourlong jump on the event, starting with check-in at 11 a.m. instead of noon.

Dress warm for the rain-or-shine event and make sure to bring valid ID. Tickets can be purchased the day of the festival but are strongly encouraged in advance online. A list of participating businesses and a map are posted by the Downtown Walla Walla Foundation, which coordinates the event.

In accordance with state law, which does not allow open alcohol on public streets, tastings must take place inside the designated venues.

This is part of the beauty of Walla Walla BrewFest.

Between 1,000 and 1,200 beer-lovers turn out for the frothy tradition, typically set for the Saturday after the Super Bowl. The timing and model are perfect for those with cabin fever and an appetite for hops in pursuit of craft brews from

Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Montana, says Cindy Frost, who coordinates BrewFest as the events and marketing director for the downtown foundation.

In this case, they find them among the aisles of downtown businesses where there’s an opportunity to infuse the local economy during a slower season while satisfying a thirst for beer.

Frost said the event draws a roughly 50/50 mix of locals and visitors to area shops.

“The whole idea is to get them in the door,” she said.

Many visitors find reason to stay and shop while they’re at it.

“A lot of times we’ll hear, ‘Oh my word, I’ve never been into that business before.”

Even if it doesn’t lead to immediate sales during the event, guests often stay downtown, have dinner – with 20 downtown locations participating in Walla Walla Restaurant Month, it’s a great time to hit a favorite spot or try something new! – and return the next day for more serious browsing. Many find a reason to return over and over again.

“I hear from business owners who a week later will tell me someone from BrewFest came in,” Frost said.

Whether you’re in it for the shopping or an IPA with a pale ale chaser, reserve your tickets and tap into BrewFest.
