The Kinglet Brings New Life and a Fantastic Tasting Menu to a Historic Walla Walla Space

The Kinglet is the newest addition to the dining scene in Walla Walla and we couldn’t be more excited about it. Brought to you by James Beard-nominated Chef Maximillian Petty of Eden Hill and Big Max Burger Co. in Seattle, Chef Petty and his talented culinary team are serving up beautiful, hyper-seasonal dishes in the former Whitehouse Crawford space. Let’s take a look inside (and at the menu)!

The enormous windows, exposed brick, and high ceilings give the restaurant a feeling of grandeur. The design, while minimal, is extremely thoughtful – from the concrete bar to the modern, yet whimsical light fixtures above the Chef’s Counter. You feel like you’re somewhere special the moment you walk through the door here.

Chef Petty and Chef de Cuisine Kevin Chrisman (pictured above) have put together a fantastic menu of canapes, small plates, and entrees at the Kinglet with an equally delicious dessert and cocktail menu. The menu here is constantly changing to reflect the season (and the dishes highlighted here should be viewed as sample menu items). In addition to the à la carte menu, a five-course Chef’s Tasting Menu is also available. You can view their most current menu on their website.

Potato Doughnuts with Smoked Mushroom, Citrus Labneh, and Beluga Caviar

The potato doughnuts have been a guest favorite since The Kinglet opened, and we highly recommend getting them if they’re on the menu when you visit.

Left: Chicory Waldorf Salad with Dehydrated Grapes, Smokey Bleu Cheese, Pickled Celery, Apple, and Candied Walnut; Right: The Main Squeeze: Gin, St. Germain, Lemon, Prosecco

Black Pepper Biscuits with Roasted Foie Gras Butter, Wildflower Honey, and Thyme

The lounge is reserved for walk-ins so you can pop in for a cocktail and a canape.

The Grilled Kinglet Smash Burger: 2-4oz Aged beef Patties, Smoked Gouda, Red Wine, and Shallot Marmalade, B&B Pickles, Mustard Special Sauce, Fries, and House Ketchup

This is our idea of dinner and a show! The Chef’s Counter can be reserved on Tock (we recommend booking this out as soon as you know the dates you’re visiting).

Left: Aged White Cheddar Churros with Parmesan Garum and Lime; Right: Curry Fried Chicken with Bay Laurel Mayo, Coriander Yogurt Cure, and a Pickled Turnip Herb Salad

A delicious journey awaits you indeed on your visit to the Kinglet! The restaurant is open from Thursday to Monday and reservations can be made here. Cheers!
